"How to Time Machine Your Entourage Data"

I had to redo this process because even though the Entourage Help website
says to create the folder ³preferably folder on another drive,² it turns out
that it won¹t work on anything but an internal drive. It did not work on a
partition of my HD. It went through the motions every day, but nothing ever
appeared in that folder I set upon the partition. When I reconstructed this
to save only my current identity folder to the my primary HD, several
results are giving me pause. First, up at the top menu bar of the finder,
every few minutes I¹m seeing a turning gear with the phrase ³copying finder
items.² I assume that has to do with this setup. However, I only set it up
to save once a day. Second, while it used to shut Entourage down, it no
longer does that, so that is obviously a problem. I don¹t know/where to
adjust this error. Finally, the alarm I set up in iCal, which worked fine
before, comes on 15 minutes early, and only once a day, so it apparently has
nothing to do with all the constant copying that goes on. I checked the Date
& Time preferences to make sure the clock is right.

Any ideas for any of this?

Are you trying to use the option that uses the Folder Action? Those only
work on an internal drive or a boot drive.

I would delete what you have and start over.

Are you trying to make a copy for Time Machine to backup?
