How to toggle between insert and overwri

I can't switch to overwrite mode. I want to be able to overwrite numbers and
dates, but I don't know how. The insert key doesn't toggle between insert
and overwrite mode. It is very tedious to have to delete a character before
replacing it with something else. It must be possible to do this basic word
processing function in OneNote. Please help.

ON doesn't have an overwrite mode. I'll agree that it's a strange
omission, but ON is designed for ease of data entry while taking notes, and
is not a word processor.
