How to toggle between read-only and read-write in Word 2007

In Word 2003, there was a nifty icon under the "File" menu item that
you could add to toolbar. When you clicked it - it would toggle the
document between read-only and read-write. This was a great feature
if you downloaded a document from a Sharepoint, then later needed to
make edits. You could toggle back and forth without "Save As" and re-
import the document to Sharepoint.

I can't find that toggle icon anywhere in Word 2007. Is it still
available?

Thanks.

Do know what you might have installed in Word, but if you r-click the
file in Windows Explorer, you can "toggle" Read-only on and off under
Properties.

See if the command you are looking for (I think they're named Check In or
Check Out) are under the Office Button (big circle in the upper left corner)
or perhaps under Office Button/Prepare. I don't have access to a SharePoint
server right now to check this out but IIRC the commands specific to
SharePoint are found under the Office Button, which is similar to the old
File menu.
