How to transfer my dictionary when I upgrade Office?

I am upgrading to Office 2003, and I have a lot of medical terms saved in the
dictionary for my old version of Office. It's not a custom dictionary,
however. Is there any way to transfer all of the words that I've saved in my
old dictionary to the new install of Office 2003?

You cannot modify the built-in Word dictionary. Any words you add go into
one or more custom dictionaries. The default is custom.dic. Custom.dic can
be opened from with in Word 2003 or since it is a text file from WordPad or
Notepad. Suggest you do a search for *.dic and look at what is in any you
find.

Upgrading to Office 2003 should not effect any custom dictionaries you have.
For extra safety, just copy you *.dic to a new folder.

The above is also true if you decide to upgrade to Office 2007.
