How to translate binary fields from remote link to IBM db2 table

Binary Fields are translatting as rectangles when viewed via a remote link to
IBM DB2 tables using iSeries Access for Windows ODBC data source version 9.
Is there a translation dll available? Using Access 2003 with Windows XP
Version 2002, service pack 1.
