How To Turn A Toolbar?

Somehow ... don't ask ... in the course of customizing a new toolbar
I've arranged things so buttons dragged into it "attach" vertically.
My search of Word Help, doesn't. I'm really not after a skyscraper
toolbar; a conventional horizontal one will do fine.

Your help in straightening things out would be appreciated.

Drag the toolbar's drag handle (lower right corner) to the right and up.
