How to turn of create drawing here field

Using Word 2003 SP2. I never encountered this before, but now that I have How
do I turn it off?

When I click on the drawing toolbar (e.g. to add an arrow or a text box or a
line...), a field opens up on the page with the text: Create drawing here.
This is so annoying. I just want to draw on the page, any where freely. When
I manipulate objects I've created, that field also opens up. I guess that is
because some of the objects were created in that field. what the beep. So,
please tell me how to create drawings freely on the page without that field
showing up? I never encountered this before when working with word, until got
a document from the legal team at work. The document forced me to place
drawings and objects in a predesignated field... what a pain.

thx

HelloPhoto. This was the FIRST thing to go when I upgraded to Word 03. I'm
sure there's some good reason for it, but i hate it, too. Tools, Options,
General, and uncheck the Create Drawing panel box (towards the bottom).
