how to turn of text being automatically highlighted

when typing in Word, the text is automatically highlighted and cant see what i am typing. It seems as if some Auto highlight option is on...it just highlights everything and the screen is black?

can i turn this off..pls help!!

Trying select all your document; Then Format/Font/Font Colour = Automatic. Then go into Format/Background and select NO FILL. Hope this works, as this has never happened to me. Good Luck

Something Very Similar happened to me in Office XP I am
left handed and therefore tend to hold the right hand
shift button for Upper Case and for multiple key strokes
which include shift. If you hold the right hand shift key
down for 8 seconds or more this evil function toggles on
or of. I think they call it key linking or similar and it
is in the control panel help.

I think you're talking about Sticky Keys (an Accessibility setting).
