How to Turn off Automatic Recoloring

In Word 2007 I want to insert a small color graphic (logo) into the header
(for stationery purposes). Word 2007 automatically recolors this logo,
shading it out by about 50%.

I do not want it retouched or recolored in any way.

How do I turn off all recoloring under such circumstances? Going to the
Recoloring tab doesn't seem to leave me an option for "no recoloring" or
something similar.

Thanks for all comments!

Update:

The document I was using was in Compatibility mode (Word 97-2003
compatibility).

Switching it to a Word 2007 document brings in the "No Recoloring" option.
However, it doesn't solve anything.

Even though the No Recoloring option is selected, the graphic is recolored
and shaded out by about 50% still.

Any suggestions?

Everything in all headers and footers is faded when you're in the body text, and
vice versa. There is no way to stop it.

The logo will print in full color. If you need to show it that way on screen,
publish the document to PDF.
