How to turn off clearType?

Yes, found the option and unchecked it, but both word and outlook are still
showing clearType in most of the places.

Did you have it turned of in your Windows settings as well? Control Panel->

Same issue for me. ClearType is off globally and in the application,
but the fonts now used in for the message headers, To-Do Bar, folder
list and heading appear not to be configurable. They look blurry and
fuzzy no matter what screen (Dell, HP, CRT) they are displayed on, no
matter if I run the ClearType Tuning Wizard or not, and no matter what
the setting is set for ClearType.

So for me, half of the displayed text in Outlook 2007 B2TR is blurry
and hard-to-read. On some LCDs, I see lots of green and red pixels on
the fringe -- an that is worse than just blurry.

I can change the Calendar navigation font in Outlook 2007, so where is
the setting for (or why can't I change) the application user interface
font(s)?

Take a screenshot of your blurry view and send it to me via email.
Specify in your email what exact monitor type and graphics card you
have, as well as a summary of what you tried so far. You can get my
email from my website.
I am hard pressed to come up with any application where you can change
the UI font. In Office 2007, you can't do it for sure.
