How to "turn off" ESC in Kiosk Mode

K

klam

Following suggestions from other threads I have turned my presentation into a
Kiosk-type and put an action button to exit the application at the last
slide. So far this has worked great! The problem is if the user hits ESC, it
goes to the PowerPoint application.

How can I make it just quit the program if the user hits ESC?

(For background, the presentation is actually a final report consisting of
22 individual reports which can be read by using links to pdf files I have
set up. The intent is that the final report will go to many independent
stakeholders via a self-startup CD. So I want them to be able to only choose
which report to read or to exit the program. I anticipate that many users
willl be even less technical than me and I don't want the "ugliness" of them
seeing the bowels of the program.)

Any help greatly appreciated! ...klam

Save the presentation as a PowerPoint Slideshow (.pps) then when the viewer
pushes escape it shuts down the presentation The Esc in the edit mode is by
default.

If you plan to send an autorun CD, it will utilize the Viewer and you won't have
to worry about the user seeing PowerPoint.

klam,

If you run the show from the powerpoint 'viewer', then it will quit to the
viewer.
