How to turn OFF "You got mail" voice in Outlook 2003

S

Sam Gebala

Is there a way to turn off the voice announcment "You got mail" in Outloojk
2003? I tried the Advanced Menu, turning off "play a sound" and that did not
work. The sound is annoying, especially if I am in a meeting and my computer
speakers keep announcing "You got mail!"

Thank you in advance for the answer.

Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Properties. Click on the "Sounds" tab and
scroll to "New Mail Notification" in the "Windows" section and change it to
whatever you want or set it it "None." Outlook uses this setting. You might
need to restart Outlook.
