how to undo a password protect

I have the frontpage discussion group as a subweb sitting inside of another
password protected subweb. I do not need the discussion folder to be
protected. Everytime I try to post a message it asks for the password and the
user ID for the subweb lists. How do I get rid of this password block. It is
sufficient that the only users are the one inside of the protected subweb
already.

Open the sub web and go to Tools, Server, Security and change the
permissions of the sub web. If your root web isn't password protected then
change the sub web so the permissions aren't unique from the root. If you
can't access those features then you'll need to contact your web host and
have them reset the permissions for you.

There is no server listed when I go to tools in the subweb
It happens when I try to post a message or when I try to search-the home
page does open
I've called network solutions and they seem to be stumped also

Did you open the actual online/remote subweb in FP, or just your local copy?
