How to undo an outlook import

M

Melanie

My outlook account has gone back to a 2002 version.... I think I may have
imported rather than exported while backing up.

Is there anyway to undo this action?

Please help

No, unless you have a copy of your original pst-file (which would be the way
to back-up instead of doing an export).

Note that no existing information is deleted when you import an additional
pst-file in your existing pst-file. You're saying that you lost all your
existing emails? What exactly did you do?

The lack of detail in your post prevents us from giving us a more direct or
precise answer.

Include at least;
-your version of Outlook (Help-> About)
-type of mail account (POP3, IMAP, Exchange, HTTP, Outlook Connector,
Exchange, other...?)
-any errors in their exact wording as they are presented to you.

Backup/restore is not the same as export/import. Export/import will not
preserve all information from your PST file. Simply copy the PST file
(while Outlook is closed) to get a 100% perfect backup. You can also use
the Windows-supplied backup utility (ntbackup.exe) to create a
compressed, portable backup.
