how to unlink pages

I merged another word document into an existing document, and for some reason the pages are "linked" so that I can't insert or delete... and the new file has "linked" to the last page of the existing file, and can't break it... i'm in publishing view, and putting the curser on one page lights up all the linked pages... now i can't even delete the imported file and start over...

how can the pages be unlinked?

You'll need to be far more accurate about what you've done & exactly how you
went about it. The merge documents feature isn't available in Pub Layout nor
is there any "link pages" facility in the program. It would also be useful
to know what you mean by "lights up".

Assume that nobody out here has seen your screen or watched as you got into
the situation... Because we haven't :)

You also need to specify exact version of OS X & Office.

I am guessing that you have added the other document as a "Link" instead of
"Inserting" it.

In which case, the whole thing is a field.

You can convert it with Ctrl + Shift + F9.

It will then become ordinary text and you can edit it.

Cheers
