How to update an add-in, checking versions, auto update, etc.

Hi -

I developed a shared add-in for MS Project 2003 in Visual Studio 2005.

I'm looking for ways to streamline update of this add-in in the future.

1. Is there a way to check for the version of the add-in? I know you can set
version numbers in the setup project.
2. Is there a way to automatically update the add-in? I know that this is a
possibility using Visual Studio Tools for Office - but MS Project 2003 isn't
supported by VSTO.

Any other ideas? Would like make the user experience easier ...
