Dear All,

I already disposed an administrative point installation MS Office 2003sp2
and I would like to know if I can update the administrative point to MS
Office 2003 sp3 AND proofing tools at the same time.
If yes, how to do it ? If not, what are other solutions ?
Thanks for your support,

Job,

The Office 2003 SP3 Proofing Tools is available from
"http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923642". If you have a API (administrative
Point Installation) then use the 'slipstream' method to get the file that is
in the '.exe' (2003PTKSP3.msp) into the API:

1. Download the file from the above link.
2. Create a dir on a disk area e.g 'c:\ptksp3'
3. Put the file in the created or chosen dir
4. Open 'cmd' window, type
5. 'c:\ptksp3>PTK2003SP3-KB923642-FullFile-ENU.exe /c
6. The extracted file is 2003PTKSP3.msp
7. Organise your computer so that you know where msiexec.exe, the API and
the '.msp' are, and type the following:
'cmd' prompt:>msiexec /a <path of Office MSI (PRO11.msi)> /p <Path of .msp
file>
8. This then takes all the files in the '.msp' , locates the correct named
files in the original package, overwrites the files & closes any temp opened
package files.

Follow this for 'most' other '.msp' situations. Ensure that you have read
relivant MS articles before attempting any of these actions.

You can do exactly the same for the basic SP3 as well.

Hope this works.

Dear mn_manager

Thanks for your answer. I did the update with this following procedure but I
don't know if Proofing tools are already included to the MS Office 2003 sp3
package ? (Because there is a individual file for Proofing tools (msp) in MS
Office 2003 sp3 update internet site).
And if it is not the case, can I define the same target destination for MS
Office 2003 sp3 and Proofing tools without damaging MS Office 2003 sp3
administrative point installation ?
