Hi there this is the link that I went to through my
frontpage 2002 help...oh course it took me to microsoft'
site at which I acn find more info on it..well what I
wanted to do was protect one page on my web site using a
logon page,, where users will use their username and
password to enter that page of mine... so I followed the
link which it is that he top.. I did everthing it asked
for, and when it came time to test the pages out..I did,
the only draw back is that the logon.asp page only
displays the whole script which when you preview into
your browser,, you do not see the logon page but the
script that you had typed for your source on the whole
internet page... is there enyone out there who can help
me with this problem???

I had the same problem at first. I later realized that
when you copy/paste off of Microsoft's web pages directly
into Frontpage 2002 (in HTML view), the "code" gets
morphed into something bizarre like "&qt<..." whatever
that garblygook was. Basically, you have to copy/paste
into Note Pad first (on your PC go to
Start|Accessories|Note Pad), then you have to "Select All"
(Right Click to see this as a menu option, or pull down
your "Edit Menu" and it is there too), then "Copy", then
move back to your Frontpage window, then, in HTML
view, "Select All" and then "Paste" (or you can "Delete"
and then "Paste"). Then try previewing it. It should
look just fine.

I too have a page that I would like users to have to type
in their ID and Password before they can view it. I did
all the steps as outlined in the Microsoft online
Frontpage 2002 help file, and when I tested out the pages,
they worked fine. My problem is that I uploaded the pages
to my server, tested them out, and now I can't seem to be
logged in as anything but "testuser"! I can't even get to
the logon.asp page from the default.asp page, and when I
force my browser to go to the logon.asp page and try to
logon, it just refreshes the logon.asp page, rather than
taking me to the options of going either to the secure.asp
or the unsecure.asp pages.

I need to know how to create a LOGOUT code, so I can
logout as "testuser"/"password" and be able to see the
login.asp page again, as if I had never logged in in the
first place. If anyone has any idea how to do this,
please let me know: (e-mail address removed). Thanks.
