how to use auto timer with hyperlinked slides?

i know how to use the timer and how to hyper link. but the problem is that i
need to set a time on some hyper linked slides.
in other words when i use the timer its not giving the viewers the right to
choose its keeps going .
how can i stop it on one slide and make it continuous on another ?
