How to use Office Upgrade

Recently, I purchased Office 2003 Upgrade.
The Upgrade was installed over the installed 97 Office Suite.
The installation was flawless.

My question is how to use Office 2003 Upgrade in case it must be installed
on "re-formatted" C-drive.
Should I install 97Office Suite first and then install with 2003 Upgrade?
I wish to skip the long installation process of 97 Office suite.
I am wondering SN of 97 office suite would work during the installation of
2003 upgrade.

On a clean C drive, just start the installation of Office 2003--at a certain
point it will search for a qualifying product for the upgrade version.
You'll be able to put your Office 97 CD in your CD drive and the 2003 version
will verify that you can use this upgrade version. You shouldn't have to
install Office 97 first.

if you need to re-install then start by using the office 2003 disk. At
some point through the process it should ask to verify an existing
pakage and ask you to put the office '97 cd in the machine. Once
verified you'll need to put the office 2003 disk in and continue as normal.
