How to use Scripting.Signer.SignFile

I have a valid SPC and PVK file but the help says that I need to reference a
"certificate" and it won't take the path to my SPC. I thought that my SPC/PVK
WAS my certificate.

Somebody please explain what I need to do with my SPC and PVK in order to
have a "certificate" that I can use with SignFile?
