how to use the find and replace in office and student 2007

I have tried to do some find and replace in Word of Office and Student 2007
and it doesn't change the word. There must be something I am not doing.
Please, help.

F&R is no different in the Home & Student edition than in any other - you
most likely have some sort of setting in place which is preventing the
replacement from happening.

Click the "More" button & adjust the checkbox settings as necessary. Make
sure there is nothing printed directly beneath the Find What field or the
Replace With field. If there is any content printed below either of the
fields click the No Formatting button to clear the formatting settings.

Also, make certain that you do not have any graphic elements (text boxes,
shapes, pictures, etc.) selected when you run the F&R or only that
selection will be searched & even if you confirm continuing through the rest
of the doc it may not find what you're searching for.

I have already done what you answer and nothing helps. Since this time I am
trying to replace something in Spanish, maybe this has something to do.
Although I have done it with other Microsoft software and the replace works
perfectly in any language, I thought that with office and student was
different. Anyway, thank you for your answer.

Ok - that may explain the problem you're having... Language is a
*formatting* attribute, so if the text you're searching for has been marked
as Spanish & you don't specify that in the search, Word thinks you're
looking only for the text as formatted by the default language - probably
something other than Spanish.

While still in the Find What: box go to the Format button at the bottom,
select Language & specify Spanish. See if that doesn't locate what you're
searching for.

I don't see how this could be the problem. Unless you specify a given
language, Word isn't searching for any specific language. But it's possible
that the Spanish word being searched for includes special characters that
haven't been correctly entered in the "Find what" box. The easiest way to
assure this is to copy/paste into the dialog.

Bob: I have tried that but still it doen't change the word. This is
frustating because it didn't happen with any other Word. And the thing is
that after I have tried to replace a word it tells me the number of
replacement it has done.

I don't see that as a problem either because I have done with other Word and
it doesn't happened. I did the copy/paste as you suggested and it didn't
worked. I am so desperate. I thought I was buying the right Word but I guess
I was wrong. Thank You for your input.

Hi Marion,

If I understand you correctly, you're saying Word 2007 is showing a count other than zero of instances it found and replaced?

Can you provide the example/wording of the text you're looking, and the setting for find and the also for the replace?

If you select the Word in your document what font is being used for that text?
