How to Vectorize fonts?

I need to send a phrase to a graphics company and I only have basic software
(Word, etc). I have been asked to "vectorize" all fonts. I believe it means
creating sharp edges to each letter (but not 100% sure). I wonder if I can do
that with Word?

Basically it means turning the fonts to objects.

You can do this within Word with WordArt. Copy the WordArt, paste special as a
Windows Metafile.
