How to view only gantt chart in the bottom view

Hi,

I can't seem to remember how to do the following:

Split the window in 2 (top & bottom)
Top can be any view
Bottom has to be the gantt chart only.

So when I click on task on top it automatically goes to the gantt bar on the
bottom.

Thanks

jp,
If you're looking for the Gantt graphic all by itself with no tabular
data then you're not the only one who can't remember. As far as I know
no such view exists or ever existed in Project. Perhaps you are thinking
about a split view wherein the Task Sheet is in the top pane and one of
the Gantt views (including tabular data) is in the bottom pane.

hehe.
That was funny John.
Yes, you are right. I've gone over my notes and I can't find it thought I
thought
I had done it once. Anyway, that would be really good for Microsoft to work
on to have in MS Project wouldn't you think?

Would you think Microsoft would create an update to MS Project 2003 & 2007
where they allow this window split?

Thanks you for your response John.

jp,
Well, since you're the first user to request this type of display,
(although I haven't read absolutely every post), I doubt it is something
on the "features to add" list for Project's developers. Even if it is a
display feature that gets added to a future version of Project I'll
almost guarantee that it will not be put into an update for older
versions. I've never seen new features get "rolled back", there's just
no incentive to do so.

At any rate, you're welcome and good luck with Project.

Hi jp,

You can get somewhere along this line by selecting the view you want, then
splitting the screen. Now click in the bottom screen and click on the Gantt
Chart View. You should see the Gantt bar in the lower pane for the selected
task in the top pane. You can select individual tasks, shift-click selected
adjacent tasks, ctrl-click non-contiguous tasks, or, depending on the upper
view, click the select all bitten above the ID Colum to select the lot.
