Hi, imbmc,
This forum is for help with Word templates: a kind of technical support
forum. Are you looking for help with formal letter-writing language from a
writer? Or are you looking for formatting help for a letter? It's a little
difficult to tell from your post, and to help without understanding what
your organization does, what the gifts are supposed to be for, how they
benefit someone, etc. That said, here's a suggestion for a start:
---------------------
[Date]
Dear [name],
I am writing on behalf of the [our organization] to let you know that a
[foundational brick gift? what do you call it? memorial brick?] was donated
by [donor group] in memory of [your loved one].
The brick is only a symbol of how the gift benefits our organization. For
example, [explanation of how it benefits your organization].
We hope this gift is a wonderful remembrance of [your loved one], and we are
grateful to share in the celebration of [your loved one]'s life.
Warm regards,
[My name]
[My title]
[Our organization]

You might also contact other charitable organizations to see if they have
better templates for such a thing. Skilled non-profit writers could do a
much better job, I'm sure.
