How to write an importer/exporter for excel

Hello,
I need to write an importer/exporter module for excel.
Specifically, I need a module which can import text
strings from a resource file and export modifications out
to the resource file, all within excel. Can anyone give
me any good leads as to where I can find information to
do this.

Are you talking about a Windows resource file (where you can store icons and
so forth) or just using this as generic terminology. If the latter, is
this just a text file?
