How would I go about migrating custom toolbars from one computer to another? Where are these contained? Thanks in advance.

Unless you specified otherwise when you created them, your custom toolbars
are stored in your Normal template. To migrate them to another computer,
navigate to your Normal template in the Finder (it would have helped if
you'd stated your version of Office so I could have given you the exact
path!), attach it to an email and send it to the other computer.

Once there, download it to the desktop and rename it to something other than
Normal (OldNormal will do). Then use Organizer to transfer the custom
toolbars to the Normal already on that computer. More on Organizer and
Normal here: <http://word.mvps.org/Mac/MacWordNormal.html>.

Thanks Beth. I really appreciate your instructions, but they seem very complicated to me, so in case anyone else is having this issue, here's a much easier solution:
1. Computer 2 has the custom toolbar set up, and computer 1 is the one you want to migrate it to. Make sure you can access comp 2 from comp 1 across the network.
2. On comp 2, launch Word and close all documents. Go to Tools/Templates and Add-ins and click Organizer and the Toolbars tab. On the left you should see the name of your custom toolbar.
3. On the right click "Close" and this will give you "Choose a File" window. Navigate to the Normal.dotm file on comp 1 and Open.
4. Select the custom toolbar on the left and copy it to the right. That's it, you are done. Go to comp 1 and launch Word, and your toolbar will be there.

I'm not sure what's different between your instructions and Beth's?

She's doing the transfer by email, whereas you are using a network.

Other than that, surely they're the same procedure?

Cheers

Yes, it accomplishes the same thing, but is a bit simpler (e.g. no need to locate, copy, or rename the Normal template, or move it to the other computer). Of course this requires comp 1 is accessible to comp 2, which might not be the case for everyone, but it was for me.

Thanks for all your help. You guys provide a wonderful service for people like me!
