How we can show planned and actual progress of activity

I have a very simple question. I have an activity whose duration is 30 days.
starting from jan1 2005 and ending on 30 jan 2005. The current date is 15th
Jan 2005. No resources are defined except duration / time period. On gant
chart view i want to show planned ant actual progress of activity in terms of
time. As half the time period is completed so i want that Microsoft Project
automatically calculate that 50 % is the planned progress. It is informed
from site that actual progress is 40%.

Kindly reply me the procedure step by step by giving example.

Did you perhaps post to the wrong newsgroup? This one deals with OneNote,
not Project.
