HP C4280 Printing SLOW in Word

My printer defaults to Photo Premium Paper rather than plain paper, and it¹s
annoying the living **** out of me!! If I try to change it to plain paper,
Word doesn¹t register the change. Ever since I upgraded to OS 10.5, the
printer has been malfunctioning with Word. I downloaded the updated driver
(for 10.5), contacted customer HP customer support, and they told me to talk
to the Office people. Well, I hope someone can help me.

HP C4280 Printing SLOW in WordWell, HP never has been one to readily own up
to their issues, but then again neither has Apple or MS:) This one could be
anyone's fault although Word simply calls the print service offered by the
OS & the printer driver. Did you run Disk Utility - Repair Disk Permissions
after updating the driver? If not, try that first. Then restart the Mac &
launch Word to see if it makes a difference.

If not, there could be a problem with the preferences file. Try moving or
renaming (with no Office apps running), then launch Word. It will create a
new one that may resolve the problem. Although I'm not yet familiar with
Leopard's locations here is info on locating the prefs in Tiger, so that may
point you inthe right direction - same file names:
