HP Credential Manager Mess

Just wondering if anyone else having this issue -- one of our users who
implemented HP Credential Manager for ProtectTools recently all of a sudden
can't Save As with existing docs and can't Save a new doc. Gets "You do not
have permission." None of the following corrected problem -- Removing
credentials, (and then after restoring credentials from a jic backup) Do not
use SSO with this application, Yes use SSO and automatically validate
credentials. Still don't know how to fix, will need to contact HP. (btw,
user has local admin rights on his PC)

We had the HP Share-to-Web issue on another PC and I'm wondering if this
problem could also be caused by Security Update.

Check out the security update before anything else.

See: You may experience problems in Windows Explorer or in the Windows shell
after you install security update MS06-015
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=918165

If you aren't comfortable with editing the Windows registry yourself, then
go to http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and scroll down to Item
No. 383 "Hewlett-Packard's Share-to-Web software - Fix". Download and run
the script to automatically modify your registry as described in KB918165.
You may need to temporarily disable your antivirus program in order to run
the script.

A revised version of the update is supposed to be released on Tuesday, April
25, to fix these problems.

Thanks.

We ended up uninstalling Credential Manager. Once the revised security
update version is out I'll wait for feedback that it is ok and then roll it
out.
