Hp Printing Problems

Hi I purchased a HP Deskjet F4180 All-In-One unit about 3 weeks ago. It
worked for 2 weeks and then suddenly I am having serious problems with use of
Office 2003 software. Everytime I open publisher files with the printer as my
default printer the program closes. It does not allow me to print within Word
and I am up to my ears with frustration. Can anyone help?

I guess if it worked ok for two weeks one has to ask what has changed on
your system, any drivers perchance?

I can't remember changing any drivers, however we have checked everything and
the problem remains.

Manually visit MS Update & review your update history, if it reveals any
driver updates, take a note, then use Hardware devices to roll back these
drivers

My syste is et to update automatically, however Icannot say if there was an
update just prior to this starting. I just noticed that even when printing
from IE 6 results in a program shut down.

Publisher is more critical about printer drivers than most programs. Simply
because your printer is new doesn't mean the driver is current or the driver
hasn't become unstable.
There is a driver here with a March time stamp, maybe newer than yours.

If it is the same as your installed driver, it might be helpful to reinstall
your driver. It is always wise to completely uninstall the old before
installing/re-installing.

If you check MSUpdate you can review your update history.
You should NOT use msupdate for drivers unless those drivers are for MS
hardware devices
