HTM, HTML, ASP

What is the difference between the file extensions in Frontpage... I am new
to this.. and had to save a page with the extension of .asp for the data
retrive. Should I rename all my pages to .asp?

htm and html are the same, asp is for active server pages (server side
scripting.)
