htm vs html

I understand it doesn't really matter usually whether a page is .htm or
..html but why is it that FP seems to flip back and forth on which format
when I create pages. It's annoying when I'm looking at the folder view and
want to sort by type and the htms are seperate from the htmls. Also, when
giving a link on the phone, not only do I need to remember the individual
page name, I need to remember which ending it has... Can I somehow set the
program to save every page the same way, or is it just tough luck.

The default extension for FP is htm.
The only time FP changes it to .html is when it's required by the server as the "Default"
extension on the server.

And that default is only on the home page document, not all of the pages in the site.

Okay guys, it took me awhile to figure out why this didn't seem to be the
case for me. Of course it was, I just wasn't paying attention. The pages
I'd imported were .html and they stayed that way even after my working on
them. The new pages I created from scratch were .htm. :)
