HTML changing to Rich Text

P

PSULionRP

Sometimes, and I don't know why, an e-mail I receive in HTML format will
become Rich Text in my preview box and Inbox. I don't know why it seems to be
dynamically changing. I would much rather prefer seeing everything in HTML
format.

Can anyone explain this to me??? Is it some sort of setting within Outlook???

Please let me know and Thanks in advance for reading and helping.

How do you know it was received in HTML format?

Not an Outlook setting.

Because the first time it comes through, it is displaying color text and the
like. Not the ugly Rich Text Format. Then when it sits in my Inbox and I go
back to look at it or see it in the preview pane, it is that ugly rich text
format.

Any ideas?????

I don't know what you mean by "ugly Rich Text format", since Rich Text can
display identically to HTML. Open the message and click the Format menu.
What format is checked?

The Format is "Plain Text" and it is protected. But the actual format that
came over on the original e-mail is "HTML". Whenever I reply to his e-mail,
the format seems to change. What's up with this???

Does the Infobar say it was converted to Plain Text?

No...The Information Bar did not indicate that it converted it to plain text.
It's weird....the original e-mail comes in as HTML. But when I reply to it,
it then changes in my Inbox from HTML to Plain Text. Is one of my settings
wrong??? My
Tools ==> Options ==> Mail Format is indeed set-up as HTML. Is there a
separate Mail Format setting for sending replies???

Thanks for your help Brian.

Hey Rich!

No I have not resolved this issue. Pretty timely...your response. I just
came back in here after a while to see if anyone posted back. I wonder if
this has anything to do with a Service Pack that was installed. It's a real
pain as the HTML formatting really gets messed up if you reply to that
original, nicely formatted HTML e-mail.

PLEASE let me know if you have found out anything on this.

Thanks!
