Html code shows instead of webpage

M

Matthew

I have made a few websites and for the most part I have had no problem
viewing them on line. Some people have emailed me and stated that they can
not see the website. They only can see the source code. I investigated this
only to find that this was true. I went to my webpage in Firefox and all I
saw was sourcecode. It is fine in Internet Explorer. I also was told it
does not show on Mac's. Please Help.
Thanks
Matthew

Not easy to help if we can't see the problem - a link to a faulty page
will help us to help you.

The http headers delivered from http://buywpi.virtualfocus.com show the
page as plain text. IE will render the page as text/HTML (because it
ignores the header), other browsers will render the page as text - that
is they will show the code.

The admins at http://buywpi.virtualfocus.com need to get the mime types
correct on their servers.

OT - the page has no text colour or background colour defined.

The page is being delivered by the server with the wrong response headers -

Date: Thu, 20 Nov 2008 15:08:08 GMT
Server: Apache/1.3.37 (Unix) FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 mod_ssl/2.8.28
OpenSSL/0.9.7m
Last-Modified: Tue, 11 Nov 2008 07:09:42 GMT
Etag: "40ae18e-aa5e-49192fb6"
Accept-Ranges: bytes
Content-Length: 43614
Content-Type: text/plain

200 OK

Note the content type = text/plain. It should be 'text/html'. This is a
server problem. Ask your host - it's their problem.

By the way, the obfuscation of your real URI -
http://buywpi.virtualfocus.com/wewillbuynyrto3 - by calling it into a
frameset here -

http://www.rxs-enterprises.org/fp

is a nasty trick. Why are you doing that?
