HTML embedded pics sent received as attachments

Certain people receive my HTML embedded pictures as attachments only and the
text is plain..yet from other people they receive HTML correctly....also some
of my recipients receive my HTML pics and text correctly Outlook 2003

Sounds like an issue on their end. Either their ISP doesn't allow HTML
formatted e-mails or they have a local configuration to read all messages as
Plain Text.

It is my daughter's virgin net account......she receives HTML from other people with embedded pictures, but mine(wanadoo account) come to her as plain text and pics as attachments...yet my other recipients are getting my HTML mail correctly!

The only configuration on your side that could cause this is that you have
configured her contact to send to in Plain Text. Open the contact from your
Contacts folder and rightclick the e-mail address. From the pop-up list
choose Send Options... (or Outlook Options...) and make sure the option is
disabled (and for Outlook Options... that it is configured to have Outlook
to decide which format to use)

This is exactly what was wrong...my contact account for her was set to plain text! How? I do not know as it had never been altered and all the rest are configured for HTML....the way I changed the text was ..right click on email address, then account properties and changed it.. Thank you for the prompt responses...musiara

I tried the solution offered by Robert, calling my ISP and asking them if
their configuration might affect my emails, but they saw that's not the case.
I have two problems:
1. Email I bounce from my ISP returns in Plain Text. I have Outlook 2002
set to always display my fonts, and to send email in HTML. My ISP suggested
HTML filtering, but I can't find any information on that anywhere.
2. Attachments simply don't get to some recipients, but I suspect that its
their ISP that is creating that problem.
3. Not sure how to control ActiveX in Outlook. I have a signature file
that when I insert it, Outlook asks if I want to run ActiveX each time.

I hope a guru comes along....I'm stumped!

Thanks in advance for your time guys.

Chad

Another thing you may want to check is the format you're sending your email
to a particular contact. Try this:

1. Go to CONTACTS > select a contact
2. Right-click on the email address > click on OUTLOOK PROPERTIES
3. Set the INTERNET FORMAT to LET OUTLOOK DECIDE THE BEST SENDING FORMAT.

That worked for me! Good luck!

Hey, I appreciate the response.
All of my Outlook settings, global and individual by contact are set on "Let
Outlook decide best sending format"

But I bounced an email through my ISP's server to my gmail account and it
came thought just fine....but when I bounce from my ISP BACK, it appears all
wrong...
Seems like I have an "Outlook Settings 101" issue.....

Hey Roady...is there a way to see how this is set up from some view or do I
have to check each contact individually.
