HTML Fonts

Hi,
I am using Outlook 2003. I need to insert text in emails which requires
me to be in plain text, but to send the email I need it to be in HTML. The
issue is that I also need it to be in Courier New font to keep the text
properly aligned. After inserting the text (in courier new and plain text),
I make necessary adjustments to the alignment and then go to Format-->HTML,
this automatically then changes the text to Times New Roman which messes up
the alignment. I then have to highlight the entire text and change it back
to Courier New.
My question is: is there a way to change it so when I put it into HTML it
leaves the font as Courier New?
I have gone into Tools--Options--Mail Format and Fonts and the defaults are
set at Courier New in HTML and Plain Text.
Thanks!

Why are you converting the message from Plain Text to HTML?
Why not directly start the message in HTML format before inserting your
text?
You wouldn't be having any font or reformatting issues then.

I do wish I could just do that, but I have to copy-paste part of an Excel
Spreadsheet as well as insert text generated from a very old DOS based
program. When we put that text in, with HTML it is double spacing and putting
extra spaces in odd places when I adjust the alignment. The only way to get
rid of these spaces is to put it in plain text, make the adjustments and then
change it to HTML, the spacing and alignment stays as-is, except for the what
the font changes, when I change the font back to Courier New the spaces are
exactly how they were in Plain Text.
I would like to be able to elimate the step of changing the font back to
Courier new when I change to HTML. We've not been able to figure out any
other way to get the spacing correct (ie. elminate the double spacing in the
inserted text).

Thanks!
