Hi,
we have a mixed set of clients on out network. XP sp2 and 2000 sp3 desktops.
All desktops have office xp sp3. everyday we generate an e-mail that is sent
to everyone from out Intranet server (2000 server with iis5.0) When the 2000
desktops recieve the mail they can see the html images embedded in the
message. (images are stored on the intranet server). When the XP users
receive the message, the images are not shown in the preview window (the red
x) and when the message is opened it asks for authentication to the intranet
server 5 times (for 5 images) if you put your id in all is ok, until you
close outlook and re-open then you have the same problem. However when you
goto forward the message the images appear. Also if you use the weblink
within outlook to point to the location of the image files (all jpegs) the
image appears and then clicking back to the mail the images appear in the
preview window!
This all sound very convoluted but if anyone can shed some light on this I
would be grateful.
Best regards
Simon
