html ? in Word

Does anyone know how I can view the html in a Word document? I hope I'm
asking this correctly. I just want to see the whole file for the document.

If it is an HTML document (<filename>.htm), there will be an HTML Source
item on the View menu.

Hi Star,

It depends on what you're trying to do.
As mentioned,
File=>Web Page Preview, right click view source will work.

View=>Source will be available if the MS Script Editor
optional install has been put into play for MS Office

If you want to work in the HTML source you can also
turn on 'confirm conversions at open' in
Tools=>options=>General and when you open the HTML
file choose 'plain text' as the file type.

No, it's not an html document. So, I guess if I'm just typing up a resume,
and inserting images into it, I won't be able to see the "Source,"

Hi Bob,
I've been out of town or would have thanked you sooner. Maybe I'm just
confused (probably) or don't understand the workings of documents (for
sure.) Anyway, I thought that I would be able to view the Source of the
document... as I would in Front Page or in Outlook Express. I guess that's
not possible. You see, I had been inserting some symbols (em dashes) into a
Word document. I wanted to see the Source for how Word set up that inserted
symbol so that I could copy it in another document. I've had trouble using
symbols in some applications. I think I'm going to be able to use them in
Outlook Express. Someone said that I have to open
Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Character Map... then find the
symbol and insert it. That's fine. I can do that, but I thought that there
must be an easier way. Moreover, some of the code numbers for these symbols
must not be correct, because they don't work for me. I use symbols quite a
bit in email and in Word.
