I have copied a table from a WEB page and pasted it into Excel (2000). One
column looks like figures (pounds and pence) but it cannot be totalled using
autosum.
I have tried formatting the column (and whole sheet) to currency, text,
general etc. with no effect, it will not autosum.
I have discovered that each cell contains a hidden character before the
figures which is not a space.
Question...
....is there an easy(ish) way of removing the hidden characters (many
hundreds of rows) so I can total (autosum) these figures?
