HTML message blank the SECOND time it is opened

Using Outlook 2000, and I generally receive HTML messages just fine.

For a few senders only (all large companies) when I first open the message
the HTML appears just fine. When I try to close the message window I am
asked if I want to save changes (which is odd since I am only viewing the
message). I reply No.

When I go to view the message again later, the message is completely blank.

I don't use the Preview pane but use AutoPreview instead (shows the first
three text lines of message only), so viewing the full HTML message requires
that I double-click the message to open it in a new window.

Any ideas why I can view the message only once?
