html message reply not showing up

Hi,
I think this is a strange one.
I sent a message to a professor. The professor replied, but all I can see
when I open the message is my orginal message. There is some sort of split
pane going on - just above the scroll bar is a very small collapsed scroll
bar, if I exand it, there is now a split screen - both screen showing only my
original message.
My school has a webmail interface, of course, and I looked at the message
there on the web and the professor's reply shows up normally.
I forwarded the message to my yahoo account and looked at it in outlook and
it doesn't show up. I looked at the forwarded message on yahoo's webmail and
it does show up.
I've had many messages from school before, never seen this happen.

I found this article in the knowledge base - article #842937 - it is from a
couple of years ago. It says that this is a known problem with messages that
are composed in some web clients and then read in Outlook.
The article does not have any status updates or helpful information, it just
says it is a known issue. If it has been a known issue for two years, how is
it possible that it hasn't been fixed by now?
Anybody have any ideas?
