Charles,

are you attempting to link to a document, or web address?
Does the hyperlink appear active after you insert it
(e.g., get the pointy finger when you go to click
it)...not the bad one....

Have you tried right-clicking the hyperlink and editing.
Browse for documents, or copy and paste links.
