Http mail (Hotmail) problems with Outlook 2002

I am having problems with Hotmail configured in my Outlook
2002 program. Can anyone help?

1. All Hotmail received messages are displayed properly in
the Outlook program. In other words, I always know when I
have a new message and I can see the following fields:
sender, subject, file size and date and time of message.
2. I can highlight and delete the messages without opening
them to read them.
3. I CANNOT open or read any message from hotmail that is
displayed in the above format in Outlook. I also cannot
compose a new message and send it through hotmail or reply
to one already received if using the Outlook program. If I
double click on a message I want to read, I get the hourglass
symbol for about 3 minutes, and then I get a time out error
saying I can't connect to the server. There is no way to
change an http timeout in Outlook, although I can change
the Pop mail timeout for my other email service. Also,
when the hourglass is busy trying to connect to hotmail,
all of my email services in Outlook are locked, so I can't
use my other service, open or send any other email or even
close the program altogether.
4. The only way I can read my hotmail messages, that
appeared in my Oulook Hotmail inbox and indicated they
were there, is to open a web browser and log in to Hotmail
directly. This is both inconvenient and extremely annoying.
5. This problem suddenly appeared toward the end of
November. I had three years of service with no problems
when Hotmail was added to Outlook for mail management. I
don't know why this is suddenly occurring, but it is
driving me crazy. I am uninstalled, rebooted, and
reinstalled the hotmail program in Outlook, but nothing
seems to work.
HELP!
