HTTP over RPC

I have HTTP over RPC setup on several laptops using Outlook 2003. However, on
one laptop, under more settings, communication tab, the Exchange over
Internet is not visible, and I am unable to set up HTTP over RPC. I've
reinstalled Office 2003 with Outlook 2003, but the issue remains. What else
can I do to troubleshoot this issue? Thanks.

This laptop is running Windows XP with Service Pack 2?

If the answer is yes, then the next thing to check is to see if the
EnableRPCTunnelingUI registry value is present. The location of this value
can be at:

HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\RPC

or

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\RPC

The EnableRPCTunnelingUI value does not exist by default and only gets set
using a group policy object or via the custom install wizard if using the
OPA files. This value has 4 possible states.

Hidden - 0
Enabled - 1
Enable only On/Off control but not config UI - 2
Enable config UI when settings are pre-deployed - 3
Disable but show all config UI - 4

Thanks. The registry key is missing, and also all of the keys for Office11.
The key is not on my other laptops and I am still able to use HTTP over rPC.
I did another reinstall and the keys did not get setup. Is there something
on the install that triggers this? Why does it work on the other laptops
without the key?

The key should only get created if the site is opting to take away or limit
the users ability to mess with the rpc/http configuration. Assuming the
laptop is Windows XP SP2/Office 2003, I would create the
EnableRPCTunnelingUI registry value and set it to 1 to see if this is enough
to force the user interface to show up.
