Huge File killed my internet connection

I am on a network with other users (about 5 computers) here at work.
Within 24 hours of each other three things happened that may have
affected my internet connection/speed. I upgraded my OS to 10.4 ( to
10.4.1 to 10.4.2 and on and on to 10.4.7) from 10.3.9, the network was
rewired (cords replaced and simplified) and someone sent me a 70mb
email through entourage (which had to be cancelled but im still not
receiving email).

I think I can eliminate the OS being the problem. I also think the
rewiring isnt the problem as we have replaced my cord as well as
plugged my cord into another computer (which had a fine connection).

So its my computer. The administrator deleted the (70mb) email but
somehow I think my system is still trying to retreive it. I can go to
google.com and nothing else. It just hangs and sometimes loads partial
pages but for the most part just fails. I've tried reinstalling
entourage and a few other things with the email account but nothing
has sped up my connection. Ichat sometimes works but soon loses its
connection as well. Its a MAJOR STRESSOR. Any suggestions out there?

You might need to download the combo updater from Apple and run it again.
Doing so overwrites potentially problem-causing files. Several users have
reported this fixed some odd problems they were having with Entourage. Combo
updaters will install on the same version as they¹re applying‹no need to
roll back or do a clean install.

Mac OS X 10.4.10 Combo Update (PPC)

You don't mention what kind of account you have, but if it's an IMAP or
exchange you might need to refresh the account or "Repair Message List". Try
option-command-L. It does an (undocumented) "special" IMAP refresh.

Ok. I've done the OS updates. I also updated Firefox, cleared private
data and all and it started working.....Then it stopped. The only
difference I notice was that the cord was moved. It has sense been
replaced. I ran network diagnostic and it says there is no problem
with my internet connection. I have a POP account but managed to open
an Apple Mail account. Some emails are sending and coming through but
the internet is still kaput. Google and nothing else.
