Huge Powerpoint file

M

Mike Pitches

Dear all

My client has given me a powerpoint file of some 30mb in size, and wants it
to be used for their website. Obviously this will be much too large for
internet use, so I would like to know if there is any way that such a file
can be condensed. Compressing to a zip file isn't an option unfortunately,
as it needs to be viewed online as well as downloaded.

Any ideas much appreciated.

Mike,

Aside from building more efficient presentations, PPT files can sometimes
shrink dramatically by saving as a different filename:
1. Open the presentation
2. Save As... a different filename
3. Save As... the original filename
4. Delete the file with the different filename

Bruce,

If saving the presentation with a new name makes the file smaller....it
normally means you have something called "fast saves" turned ON. Turn it
OFF to avoid this problem.
