hyper text - Can I do it?

I want to make a place in a document where I can manually
enter data (like numbers mostly) and the information will
be recorded in that spot AND on another spot on a
document.

For example, if my first step were like this,

"Record battery voltage: ____ volts"

I would want to record my voltage in the underlined area,
but also have the info that I entered show up later in the
document. That's two places.

I don't know what this would be called besides
possibly "hypertext."

If somebody could help, I'd really appreciate it.
