Hyperlink always opens a new file, instead of already open file

Hello al

I have a hyperlink to my access database, and whenever it is clicked, it opens a new copy of the database. As we go back and forth betweeen the two files using hyperlinks, I can get 10 or more copies of the database open, which really slows things down. Interesting that when I use the hyperlink that goes from access to visio, g t goes to the already open file, rather than opening a new one

How can I stop this??

I don't have an answer, but a related question. When I
use hyperlinks to Word or Excel, it launches the file
within a web browser instead of opening Word or Excel -
so I lose all functionality. Do you know how to change
that?

Thanks!
