Hyperlink and mail merge

I'm using office 2000
In a database we have hyperlinks and they are working fine
When merging the data with a word file (mail merge) the
text is appearing but it is no hyperlink anymore

Is it possible to create a document with hyperlinks using
the merge function with data from an access database
